Those that built their own CNC , did you use gecko drivers and Mach3.
I have 4 Isel XYZ tables in storage , 2 x 1m x 500mm and 2x 500x500
All are complete with spindles and steppers etc , but the contollers have died. I can either try get the driver cards fixed (circa lates 80's early 90's) or redo the drivers and controller
I am looking to use the Gecko 203v stepper drivers with them controlled via Mach3.
Mach3 requires a printer cable , not so much of an issue , but I was thinking it might be better to use a USB breakout board...
How did you guys do things?
