I rather move here before the mods kick my behing in the SALES section
Just a post to set things right...... and some ADVICE please ?
The Tympani IIIB didnt have a push pull tweeter but rather a more "normal" one... Mike you are correct!
The information that Chris has from Magnepan doesnt seem to indicate that, thus his advice that the tweeter panels are missing.... he has a set of panel WITH push pull tweeter AND marked as Tympani IIIB :Ooooooh:
Sooo.... Chris will refurbish his push/pull tweeters and swop me for my panels and I will have a Hybrid IIIB/A.... almos like a IIIC
I will keep the supertweeters connected as I gathered from a few website it DOES open up the topend.... ending with a Tympani IIID them :whistler:
My question again... spending R15k to get them up to 100% cosmetic and functional - brand new panels.... IS IT WORTH IT ? Am I throwing good money after bad ? Sold a very competent ML for this repair, but now I have my doubts....
I am so worried if I am not satisfied/impressed with the sound that they wont sell, yet I dont want such a classic to rot away un-repaired
