Please advise.
My Marantz cd player (cd 5001) does not read cds anymore. It displays "error" when any cd is inserted. Sure, one can hear the trasnport spinning the disc inside, but it cannot be read.
Now, this is an entry level player (from late 2005). At the moment, I still feel more comfortable playing cds in a dedicated cd player rather than ripping or streaming and all that.
What could have gone wrong?
It started by being picky regarding cds it can play (be it authentic copies or cdr). It also could not respond normally to remote control commands - if that helps.
I would like to have it up and running, provided it would be an easy fix.
