So before I had issues when I added new HDMi 2.0 cables that my HEOS wasn?t showing up onscreen...
since then I tried playing a DVD a few weeks back and had no sound from the source at all, picture was fine (on a Samsung BDP) but no sound even when going direct to the TV via HdMi...source must be poked...I then source a new BDP, get home plug in and when I switch over to the BDP I get the Sony BDP welcome screen and then as soon as it kicks to menu the screen goes blank, and my Tv then says no source with no sound either. Definitely not the source as it worked perfectly on testing when collecting
Running through the Marantz setup menu on video options & switch over 4K signal format when I switch over the 4 format from enhanced (4:2:2) which is what I?m using due to upgrading HdMi cables and support for format via Apple TV, to standard 4:2:0 then the picture comes on from the BDP menu, I get picture from the disc and sound.
Surely I shouldn?t have to switch this setting every time I want to watch a Blu-ray to get picture & sound? I was under the impression that you were able to save settings ?per input? so when on BDP it knows 4K signal should be standard and when on Apple TV it kicks back to enhanced?
Or is it a matter of cable upgrade required from BDP to AVR now to also be 2.0?
Anyone else experience similar issues?
