Hi All,
Firstly, I am absolute newbie to this world of higher end AV sound, when I say this I have currently have a Blu Ray Samsung HTiB kit which has been serving me well for the past few months but then a bug
has hit me and now I want to upgrade.
This is going to be done is stages over the next few months starting with my first purchase being the Marantz SR5005 + UD5005, I have chosen a lifestyle package speaker set for the following reasons:
1. Wife doesn't want the lounge to look all cluttered with speakers (I compromised
2. I am from SA but move places within Africa every few years, don't want to lug around huge kit. Currently based in Uganda.
I have been given great advice/prices from a local retailer. I would like to hear what you think about the above set-up,I see there are many experts on this forum that can advise. Please note its quite a mission for me to be in SA to audition what I want.
1. I chose the Marantz because after much reading/surfing the net, they seem to have a reputation for being good at music. I listen to everything from Classical/Rock/House/Dance. These Marantz receivers/players has to be the one of the best looking out there.
2. Their AV receivers have also being given good reviews for HT as well, I do love my movies/gaming as well.
3. The B&W M1's have been given great reviews as well, I like to look as well and will fit in perfectly with my furniture and decor.
