Mechanical toys: (I will show you mine if you show me yours)
I think it is safe to say that everybody on this forum loves gear and/or music, that's why we are here. But I bet that most of us also appreciate beautifully made stuff, and I am not referring to art. Like a hunting knife, motorbike, turn-table, rifle, whatever. One of my passions is scales. This is a 10kg precession dead load laboratory scale by Swiss manufacturer, Mettler (Dr. Erhard Mettler).
She does look mundane with all her clothes on, but this brute has an analogue display of 1/10 000 i.e. a resolution of one gram in 10 kg. This is common in electronic scales, but this scale has a long term accuracy of 1g in 10kg, only a dead load system can do this (long term with no re-setting of zero or re-calibration). She is beautifully made, the machining, optics, design, everything.
However, her bulb has fused and I need a replacement. I can order it over the internet, but just maybe I can get it locally. They were common and I am sure someone must have a stash. Here it is:

These used to be supplied by a company called Protea........ anybody?
Here are a few pics with her clothes off, what a beaut.
