Hi guys, im looking for some guidance please.
Iv got some blown yamaha tweeters that I want to have repaired, Ive tried to find some original replacements with no luck. I know there is the option of recoiling but there is potentially another option im considering. The yamaha tweeter has a flat face plate and is easily removed, it has 4 screws with a 56mm pcd.
The magnet od is 80mm
What I would like to do is take a tweeter with the same pcd and magnet diameter and screw it onto the Yamaha faceplate. The tweeter I have in mind is the peerless bc25tg15-08. Its very similar to the yamaha tweeter dimensions and performance. Has anyone done this before? Any advice? recoiling will probably work but tweeter will not be original anyway, so why not rather take a working tweeter with proven performance and retro fit.
