I want to upgrade my front speakers at the end of the year. I have to use bookshelves due to the lounge layout.
I have a Denon X4100w receiver, running an Onkyo 5.1 speaker THX package.
I have upgraded the Onkyo sub to a SVS SB13 Ultra. I also have a Monitor Audio Silver W12 sub, which I am going to add to the system.
I was looking at the SVS ultras online, and they have good reviews. The SVS are about R20k.
Then I popped into Sound & Cinema a few days ago, and they recommended the Monitor Audio Gold 100 bookshelves. The MA's are around R23k.
Unfortunately they didn't have a pair in stock, so I couldn't listen.
Any opinions on these 2 speakers. Also, any other speakers you guys can recommend in this price range. I would say R25k as the max, but could maybe push if it were really worth it.
Any other dealers in Cape Town where I can go audition speakers.
