Steve Hoffman posted this today on his Facebook page :
Steve Hoffman - beware of using that mono cart on "mono records cut with a stereo tip", in other words most mono recuts from 1968 on. Those when folded to mono will go out of phase some times. A mono cart should be used ONLY when you know the mono LP is actually cut with a mono cutter head. Otherwise, sonic disaster. Trust Steve..
Any comments? I am about to start using and Ortofon 2m Mono cart. Does this mean any records cut after 1968 labelled "mono" should not be played with this cart?
