Most reliable service provider for fibre to the home?

I know this is a difficult one because it seems that for every recommendation there is someone else who's had a nightmare experience.

I'm looking to get Netflix for my Mom, who is in a retirement village. Vumatel has installed the fibre in the village, so from what I understand I now need to choose a service provider who will link her up with a package. She doesn't watch a huge amount of TV, has I think the second highest DSTV package, but that's just a bunch of endless repeats, so I'd rather dump them and go with something that will definitely keep her entertained.

She doesn't have a high def TV, so she'll be streaming in standard definition.

Any advice from someone who's been down this road?
