While we're on the topic of clarifying things on the forum, I was wondering if it was possible to clean up all the classified sections***: 'For Sale, "Commercial Members Sales, 'Traders Sales", and "Wanted" sections.  What i mean is once an item has been sold, and it is locked, perhaps it can be left up for another two weeks.  Then it can be moved to another section?  I find that when going through ads it's a bit annoying to find that old locked ad about stuff already sold or found are mixed with the current ads.

Personally I wouldn't mind the above-mentioned sections*** only to contain current open ads.

However I always refer to closed ads to search pricing trends and the forum is about THE most accurate place in ZA to find trending prices regarding gear, so having those accessible somewhere would help.

This will probably mean a bit of work, but in the long run it would help.  I don't mind if all the closed ads from all the sections just be put in one section.  Personally I use this for reference purposes and as long as it has useful content, I would use it.  I also use old ads to see how many times an item has been sold and resold on the forum and it's history

I'm not referring the Individual Commercial Members' Section where individual commercial members each have their own sections.  I'm talking about the sections that are all shared.  Though they may think about that too.

For any ZA guys who have websites (HFX included), I find it annoying to go through their classifieds or used item sections only to find a whole lot of sold items mixed with current items for sale.  Also annoying is when contacting the owner of the site about an item and to be told:

Sorry it's sold

OR

Sorry it's out on loan/audition OR  Sorry someone booked it three weeks ago but hasn't come to collected it, and hasn't put down a cent towards it.  Let me contact the guy and see if he wants to buy it.  He's had it for 3 weeks but let me get him to make a decision.

Then the answer: Oh, now that you're wanting to buy it, he says he wants it.  This happened to me 3 times in a row.  And then worst of all a month later the sale was not finalised, or the guy changed his mind.  This was regarding gear I was ready to buy.

Unprofessional  :whistler:

Keep your sites current guys - if an item is sold, move it to another section.  If it is out on loan/audition, state that.  Move all your current and available items to a dedicated section.
