I have accepted a contract overseas again and by 01 June I will move to Tanzania for 2 years. Now I have a 10 year old cat who I love to death and I am curious as to if I can/should move her or not.
Now normally it would be quite simple if I had a flight and moved from one house to another, i could just take her with. However, I need to:
1. pack up my house here in SA
2. fly to Tanzania and stay in a hotel for a month while looking for a new place
3. move into the new place
4. wait for my container with all my furniture to arrive.
Now, I could put her into a kennel (or a temporary home) for a bit, but the problem is that she's a completely paranoid and highly strung cat, she's also 10 years old so I'm wondering if it's more cruel to move her with me or find her a new loving home here?
Has anyone moved long distances with animals before or have any experience in this regard?
