Hi all you boffins, my Linn Link (manufactured by Naim Audio for Linn) is misbehaving, a slight crackling is beginning to appear on the left channel when it gets warm, (about 30 to 40 minutes usage).

The only use it's being put to is as the input to my M-Audio digitiser as I work my way through converting all my vinyl albums to WAV files on my PC and subsequent burning of DVDs and downloading to my I-Pod.

My t/table set-up is Linn LP12, Linn Basic + arm and Kiseki Blue MC cartridge, I'm not looking for anything costing the earth because it would be foolish to try to put champaign into a beer bottle, but I do want something that will allow most of the virtues of the t/table set-up to pass through.

The Apple compression protocol on the I-Pod is like a million times better than the very lossy MP3 protocol, and I can clearly hear the superior musicality of the vinyl albums over standard run-of-the-mill DVDs on the I-Pod when played through my car's system.

I would really appreciate some advice as I've been out of the top end Hi-Fi scene for several years.
