My friend deals with antiques and i've got him looking out for turntables now. Yesterday he phoned me and said he was in a scrapyard, there was a Thorens for R30. I told him to get it without asking for the model or anything as I can always use spares.
Anyway it's a TD150II in suprisingly ok condition.
Wood is ok
Top is ok
Outer platter is missing
Motor shaft is bent but motor spins silently
Headshell is missing but I have a couple of Thorens ones
Arm seems ok, awesome counterweight looks like a cartoon bomb
No lid
Suspension seems suprisingly ok
I have a TD166II which I think will be a donor until I can find some more parts. Apart from getting it working nicely, i'm thinking I might do a nice plinth, maybe with a nice long arm... Any suggestions?
