A while back I found that after doing speaker setup whether by spl meter or auto EQ the left channel is louder and clearer than the left. The are times ( once in a while where both channels seem to be level matched. I sometimes have to increase the level of my right speaker to match the left but this is a problem when later the right side opens up and is now obviously louder than the left so I have resorted to leaving them level matched and ignore the better sound stage from the left.
i was able to diagnose the culprit myself. I found my left ear heard much better than my right ear. If I turn to the right so that my one ear is into the room and the other is facing the back wall I have perfect sound staging. I have chronic sinusitis and this has resulted in the blockage of my right ear's eustachian tube. The first attempt at upgrade will be to treat my sinusitis on a chronic basis and take meds that suppresses the allergic reaction while clearing the blockage. Should this go well my right ear's hearing will be restored. 2nd option will be other options that the treating dr has not explained properly but I think this is where the ENT Dr becomes involved and they flush out the sinuses. This will be one of the biggest upgrades on my system to date
