NAD 304 back from the dead ( + help me with setting bias)

I got this little amp in non working condition, it would switch on but not come out of protection mode. So I opened her up and noticed a few loose solder joints which I fixed, I also read on the net about 2 resistors which tend to go bad on this particular model so I changed those as well. Switched her on and voila, green light.  :Whoohoo:
I connected some old B&W DM100i bookshelves and I have to say this is one really good sounding integrated amp.

Now a question for the more knowledgeable people. I wanted to set the bias but when I connect my multimeter to the one channel I get an open circuit reading, on the other channel I get a volt reading. What would be the cause of this?
