Need advice on home theater stetup for around R16,000.

Hi Guys

New here - and was hoping for some advice.

I've got around R16,000 to spend - I really wanted the Onkyo HT-S9100THX 7.1 Channel Receiver and Speaker Package (http://www.us.onkyo.com/model.cfm?class=Systems&m=HT-S9100THX) but was told its not available in SA - I can get it imported by take2 for R16,000 - which seems a bit high for a $1,000 system.

I was then offered the following for R14,000 which seems pretty decent.
2x Polk RTi300 floorstanders
1x Polk CS-10 centre speaker
2x Polk RTi100 rear speakers
1x Polk PSW110
1x Onkyo TX-SR577 HD AV Receiver

My main concern is paying to much for something - or getting a substandard system - I can obviously do some of my own online research - but considering this will be my first 'decent' system - I'd appreciate any advice that can be given.

I am open to other brands/systems.

The system will be used mainly for movies (bluray) and music in a fairly large tiled room - I'd like a 7.1 receiver but 5.1 speaker configuration will work for now.
