so it seems that someone managed to get hold of the need for speed world game files, & has set up some online servers.

i am still busy downloading the local parts of the gamefiles so haven't tried it yet, but from what i see on the web it seems legit.
this was the last game i had any time for, loved it. toyota mr2 was a monster car - so fast i would get accused of cheating quite regularly.
