Need to replace fridge & dishwasher - any recommendations/ tips where to buy

After 14 years our dishwasher finally gave up the ghost today and our fridge's thermostat is also playing up (with, according to Whirlpool, no replacement parts available). So, time has come to replace both. I'm probably leaning towards a Bosch, Siemens or Miele dishwasher and Siemens or Miele fridge, but would appreciate your thoughts re other brands to consider - reliability and built to last being key criteria.

Also, would appreciate if you know of any places that offer a good bargain. Jhb & surrounds.
