I have a view LP's that I would like to convert to Flac. I tried my first couple last night and was amazed at the sound quality. I am connecting my phonostage outputs directly into a Roland EU-25 (96/24) capable sound card and recorded through audacity in 96/24 bit stereo mode. I used the multi-track export facility to produce Flac files with proper tags etc. All really very easy.
The only thing that I have noticed is that the recording is a bit softer than what I was hoping for and that I had to turn the volume up a bit. This is a problem with my phonostage and I need to do this whenever I am listening to records anyway. There is nothing I can do about it right now.
My question: Should I up the volume digitally using Audacity or just leave it as ease and rather use the analogue volume controls to play at the desired volume?
