network music players

i see there's quite a lot of network music players being launched overseas: players like cambridge audio np30, yamaha np s2000, musical fidelity m1 iclic, nad c446, etc. all intended to banish cd's, and stream audio in various ways off the net. any thoughts on this? anyone using such devices and what hs been your experience? how do they compare to cd players and laptop/PC+DAC - on performance and convinience?
