Networking a USB printer that doesn't have networking capability

I have a HP LaserJet M1319f which only has a USB input.  The printer is located some distance away from my PC and we generally resort to a long-run USB cable when we want to print.  There's a gigabit switch right next to the printer...so I'm wondering... would an Ethernet to USB adapter connected to the switch do the trick iro network enabling the printer?
