Hi folks,
Were just wondering whether anybody else has the same problem? I recently received a new Airport Express as a gift (square shaped one) and I have been trying to use the Airplay feature via the optical link with my Audiolab M-DAC. It does output audio, but every 2 seconds or so the audio skips/pops, so for all intent not really usable.
When viewing the M-DAC display it does look like it loses lock on the signal at times. Compatibility issues here? The analogue audio seems fine, but the quality of course does not come close to the M-DAC. Interestingly enough plugging it directly into my Yamaha AVR through the optical input works perfectly and it sounds more than decent enough, but again, I bought the M-DAC as an improvement to the AVR for stereo music. The M-DAC works fine through the optical output of my Asus Essence STX too so I definitely don't have a faulty unit. Not sure if anyone else also has this issue and what you guys did to resolve this issue? My unit was bought on at a duty free store at an international airport so I don't really have an option of returning it!
Hoping that this is not a slip up on Apple's part during their QC testing and the problem is fixable?
