Hey guys,
Long time lurker and reader but need some advice on a new AVR and front speakers.
My house got a lightning surge twee weekends ago and my Onkyo AVR got struck.
Insurance payout should happen next week, so need to do some research and get advice.
I should be getting a payout of around R13500, so I can push it up to R1500 before the swambo gets upset
I'm able to keep the Onkyo 5.1 speakers, so don't need to get all the new speakers atm.
Was thinking of Boston Acoustics A23 or Polk TSi 100 for front.
Boston 225cs or Polk CS-10 for center, maybe Dali Zensor Vokal.
I've also read so nice things about the Wharfedale speakers.
The three speakers should then be around R5000, leaving R10000 for the AVR.
I'm not really brand loyal, between myself and my dad we have had Pioneer, Yamaha and Onkyo AVRs.
Just looking for something decent, 5.1 or 7.1/2 doesn't "really" matter.
If it is more than 5.1 I can use the current speakers until next month to do the 5.1+ sound.
TV is in the living room, so listening area is about 4 x 5m if i'm not mistaken.
And there is no place for floor standing speakers, so have to go with bookshelf speaker for space and the little monsters hands.
Thanks in advance,
Freakboy
