PS Audio have been beavering away since early this year on a new range of digital source equipment. Their approach has been an interesting one - they've opened their kimono on their own forum by inviting input and feedback from their forumites on the design and feature-set for this new range.
The range - dubbed "Ultra" - will eventually comprise four main components:
1) Perfect Wave Transport
2) UltraLink DAC
3) An as yet un-named Digital Lens
4) An as-yet un-named "bridge" which will support a NAS for music server functionality
Paul McGowan recently showed off the "alpha" versions of the CDT & DAC at the Milan Audio Show and has posted links to some pictures.
As I have yet to figure out how to post a picture by uploading (without using a service like ImageShack), I am trying the "attachment" route.
Both CDT and DAC feature a colour touchscreen display on the front panel and the UltraLink DAC incorporates an in-built 'digital lens' for jitter-busting.
If my memory serves, PS Audio were looking to bring these items to market at around $2k each in the USA...
I have to admit to being a bit curious to hear how they will sound.... ??? ???
