I had a Cisco/Linksys wireless ADSL router which served me well for a few years.Recent cable theft in my area and the router is kaput..not sure if that is the cause bu ja she is moer toe.

Ok cool so order a new TPLink with a boasted 1750mbs on wireless over both the 2.4 and 5khz band combined.Great, set it up and all connected...however my personal laptop used to connect at 300mbps on 2.4 ,my wifes laptop used to connect at 144 mpbs and now my laptoptop connects at 144mps and my wifes at 14mpbs.Tablets that used to connect with wireless N speeds of 74mbps now connecting at 5-14mbps.
Ok so maybe its k@k router so ordered the new Linksys and get similar poor connection rates.
For kicks I hauled out a standby Trendnet al cheapo wireless router and hey presto much better connection speeds.

What am I missing here.Been through most of the settings I can think of

Appreciate any input ,thanks chaps
