New record have so much more "static"

I've noticed all my newer records have a lot more static than my older ones ...I'm assuming its static. I'm going to order a carbon fibre brush and give them a clean... Will that kill the static a bit ? Also how well do records and 90% isopropyl alcohol swabs go ? Thought of wiping them with a few alcohol swabs.
