Hi All,

First off, absolutely great site with very interesting opinions on various topics AV related. I accidently stumbled upon this site whilst in search of a centre speaker for my work in progress system. I am terrible at model numbers

I am an absolute music nut and have been collecting vinyl for almost 23years as this was the format for a mid 90's DJ. My vinyl collection is currently around the 2000 piece mark but probably greater if i decide to collect all those "borrowed items".

Im Cape town based and have a pretty modest setup in comparison to most of the folk around here.

My "mobile" setup consists only of 2x Technics SL 1200 MK2, Ortofon concorde pro carts and a "vintage" Vestax 3ch mixer (model eludes me) which i basically plug into my Hifi amp when i have the urge to brush up on my beat matching skills. Heaphones: Pioneer HDJ 1000

I am terrible at model numbers, so for my "permanent  / fixed" system only the manufacturer is known  :-[
Amp - Yamaha something or other model still has an Phono input so must be pretty dated by now but perfect to run my Technics SL 1200 mk2  in black (US Model).
Speakers: Boston CR7 bookshelfs, PSB centre, Yamaha woofer. (Would love the Boston VR2 floor standers to complete this set)

In addition i have cobweb engulfed vintage equipment inherited from family over the years, some working others not, these include:
Phillips Reel to Reel
B&O tape player
Nad 3020 amp
Celestion Ditton 1 - Boxes are shot
Telefunken turntable  - Wooden plinth and springy platter for a lack of a better word:-[
Onkyo amplifier - Cool because it has two phono inputs (Lights go on but no one is home)
B&W speakers  - Big, heavy, ugly brown cabs (Tweeter blown on one during a DJ vinyl mixing session)

Thats about it if memory serves.

Looking forward to learning lots more from this forum.

Thank for reading,
Vincent
