So, awkwardly I find myself more and more becoming less interested in my gear - or dare I say - less of an audiophile. (Because i.m.o. audiophiles listen firstly to their gear and then to the music) I do still listen to music, but... I don't enjoy it as much anymore. These days, music would be fine playing through a decent bookshelf speaker system, heck even a half decent system would do. It does not need to tick the audiophile boxes anymore. It does not need to awe me anymore... it's just become boring and uninteresting.
It's not a nice place to be at ... and ironically it's a fantastic feeling of freedom.
