So was visiting Croak on Saturday to drop off my LP12 plinth so that I can that table  ?????? soon I hope ????

So as usual I took up much time of G's in conversation - you can't shut me up usually. During this the conversation turned to my Planar 3 and I was looking at a few possible upgrades I may consider on it once my Linn is ready.

I was enthusing as to how impressed I am with the DV 10X5 on this table. Just sounds so good to me. Think they may a good pair. G commented that the cart sounds even better with the body removed ????  :rubhands: :rubhands: :rub hands:

SOOOOoooooo I got home and decided to look online - couldn't find as much info on it as I thought I would. Only one pic of a 10X4. Only much warning that it would void my warranty. Nothing new in my system considering how much everything gets tinkered with.

So this afternoon I got our some surgical instruments and gently removed the two screws on the side of the cart. The body actually slips forward quite easily but you just need to be careful not to damage the needle as it comes off. A quick adjustment of VTF and I was good to go???.

You notice I put the two screws back on so I could still use the stylus guard - very nervous about damaging the cart.

So how does is sound - Better yes. Hard to explain - I'm never good at describing this in the expected terms. Cart is still smooth but sounds a bit more detailed. Bass is a bit fuller. Noise floor seems even lower than before. Sounds better to me????.

Thanks G.
