Hi all Old car experts (Old cars and Old experts)

I need to buy "lead" now for my Ford's Essex V6, since no LRP is sold anymore.
All I have found so far is this Wynns Valve guard.
Is it the best thing? Is it the only thing? And does it really work as well as real lead?
(I really do not want the hassle of having hard valve seats installed, the engine is relatively 'new' for its chronological age - 100,000 km)

Oh, and if using this, is it still allowable to skip one tank every so often (as one could occassionally use one tank of unleaded if leaded couldn't be found). Does the Valveguard give any prolonged protection if it isn't in the petrol 100% of the time.?
