Old hifi prices compare to new

I was wondering what did a Nad / Rotel hifi cost in the 80's and 90's or even other hifi's... If I'm not mistaking the price did not change alot over time... One memory I have on price of hifi was in the late 80's my parents paid R2000 for a ks-2000 kenwood wannabe hifi at Lewis store...
