Old turntable, new arm, old cart, new stylus... issit good, issit?

Recent junk shop find Garrard 401 which I fitted with RB300 arm, found an old Ortofon VMS20E MKII minus a stylus and remembered liking it very much decades ago, so I bought a generic eliptical stylus from the UK.
Was it worth it do you think?
