A week ago my CRT monitor at work decided it had enough and after a lot of negotiations I ended up buying a 19" LCD monitor. Connected it up using the D-Sub(VGA) connector as I did not have a DVI output on my Video controller. I was quite disappointed with the display as it had a "grainy" quality which I found annoying even at the highest resolution and refresh rate.

I ended up buying a real cheapie video controller(ATI Radeon 9250) with DVI output, connected the DVI cable and WOW! The display is crisp with excellent color definition and the grainyness has disappeared completely.

Now where this could be relevant off course is if anyone buys a nice big plasma or lcd monitor for HT purposes and find the display not to be as good as expected. Use the best connection available on both source and destination!
