I have a Onkyo HT-R990 AV receiver. It has never given me problems until last night.
There was no sound coming from the unit. After changing back and forth between various sources, and going in and out of the settings, the sound cam back.
This morning when I switched on, again no sound, so I did a factory reset. After reboot, everything seemed to work again.
When I got back home, I switched the system on, and again no sound.
When there is no sound, it shows no speakers in the speaker matrix that appears on the LCD display. Also, USB and NET don't work, it shows initializing on the LCD display. When I go into settings, software upgrade is blocked out.
I am running the latest software, which I have been using for months.
I did a factory reset, but this time it didn't work. I disconnected from power, and did a factory reset again. The sound came back. I haven't tried turning it off again since then, as I'm sure it will stop working.
All the settings are correct, and all cabling is connected securely.
Any idea's.
