I have a brand new (NOS) Openview decoder purchased in 2015, opened the box (broke the seal) to activate it for the first time ...today.  The decoder was one of the better models with HDMI out. Model DSD 4139.

Couldn't get the USSD code to work, so I called their call-centre to activate box, the operator tells me that my decoder is not supported anymore and I need to purchase a new one.

Interestingly, the default channel 100 is displayed advertising the programmes/channels available and Radio channel plays, but for some ridiculous reason... "our new system does not support certain decoders".

The operator had the nerve to mention that "we dont pay for the service, its free, buying a new decoder shouldn't be a problem. All appliances reach an end of life, and need to be replaced". I was miff'd. I told him the box is on, and advertising channels on the default channel, why do I need a new box...

I looked around on other social platforms, it seems people are being asked to buy new decoders, some have been able to get their old decoders to work again, not sure how though. Naturally everyone isn't pleased with Openviews thieving to fill their pockets.

Anyone experienced this problem and is there a solution ?

Thanks.
