Hi there,
I?m new with audio fidelity (Is that the correct term?), and I?m asking help on replacement drivers.
I recently cleaned out my mother?s attic, and found an old stereo kit from my Granddad?s days.
The Amp is a Sansui 210 vintage model, and the speakers are DIY built by the granddad. Where I need assistance is replacement drivers for the speaker boxes, as one of the original drivers are missing (I think it?s my fault, I might have removed one of the speakers when I was like 12 years old lol) and the one that?s intact, looks to be a cheap car speaker :\
Below are some pics of the bookshelf cabinets?.
What would you guys recommend to replace the drivers with? A nice full range driver like the Visaton B80, or build a 2 way system?
The Visaton B80 need 89mm diameter cut-outs, but the existing one is 100mm, so it might be a little on the small side. But my woodwork skills are great, I can manage another cut-out or install ports etc?.
Inside dimensions of box: 290mm x 180mm x 200mm
Price wise, not much more than R1000?
Regards
