PC output on TV accuracy

So I tried hooking up my laptop to the TV today just to check it out. I wondered how accurate PC output would be on a TV (appropriate settings all selected), given that they operate quite differently.

Both my TV and laptop monitor are correctly calibrated so output should be similar with correct B&W/RGB level conversion (allowing for the range difference). As you can see, that's not the case.

The desktop image was produced by the onboard Intel graphics, the video by the Nvidia card. Seeing as how they both have the same yellowing, I assume the laptop's colour profile is to blame. I would imagine this would be a problem on most PCs, unless some offer some sort of Direct or Through option.






Later in the day I took a shot of the same scene being displayed natively by the TV. You can see that the laptop and the TV's images are virtually identical (as they should be since they're both calibrated):
