As per the title : Perennial Sub-Woofer Disappointment
All I ever get is the BOOM!!
I have had some great subs in the past - Tannoy/Paradigm , currently a Paradigm PDR-10.
But all I ever seem to get is boomy kakky bass
Sub never seems to pair well or seamlessly with the mains either.
I listen in stereo to music only no HT
Mains are Paradigm Monitor 9's , I don't really crank the volume which I suppose is a valid reason why the sub doesn't really get a chance to blend well with the mains. Room is not amazing or prepared for sound
Does an Audiophile system for stereo music actually recommend a sub , I recall having heard not!
But then you need space and money for Speakers with 8" or 10" drivers?
Any thoughts and science as too this issue , sub basics for dummies
