petition for cleaner oceans...

here's a link to a petition I came a cross today. it's about the plastic garbage in the sea (in this case the mediterranean), and they need a million ppl to get a hearing at the eu. now this is not only a local problem of the mediterranean, there are many of these garbage patches all over the world, the largest one afaik the great pacific garbage patch ,about a 1000 miles from the californian coast, larger than the size of texas.
