Long story short, my vintage Pioneer tube amp started scratching, so it's out of commission until I can get it serviced.
I've been using a crappy Joseph pre-amp with a Rotel amp in the meantime, but the pre-amp has now started acting up. It could just be the power supply, but I'm looking at a budget stopgap solution in the meantime.
This is basically what's available, and I'd prefer to spend as little as possible, but also don't like wasting money. 2nd Hand would be first prize, but I haven't seen antyhing available.
Bearing in mind that whatever I buy now may end up gathering dust 3 months from now.
