I am currently looking for a SECOND phono stage for a 2nd tone arm (SME 3009 improved version) which will be mounted on a Garrard 401 turntable. This is being rebuilt and re-plinthed.  This arm will house an Ortofon 2M Mono cartridge. The stereo setup is a Funk Firm FxR arm with a Sumiko EVO III cartridge.  The stereo phono stage is a  Graham Slee Reflex running to a Manley Stingray via Cardas Golden Reference cables. Both arms are Cardas wired. Speakers are Triangle Antal EX floor standers. All other cables are Cardas.

I really want to keep within my current budget and possibly get a kickass phono stage at a later stage that does both MM and MC and takes more than one arm/turntable.

Right now ideas are:

Rega Fono or Fono mini, any of the Project boxes, Ifi Iphono Stage (MM/MC), Cambridge Azur 651P, and others like Edwards Audio or Phenomena which have also been recommended.

Anyone have any other ideas or suggestions- feel free to advise. Budget is around $400 or ZAR 4000. I prefer to buy here in SA or get something second hand  here soon. I also have the option of bringing in something from the US in June.

:blah: :blah: :blah:
