I am new here and also new to TT's so bear with the newbie questions please :nfi:
I got this Pioneer PL-512 for free with the original cartridge in and an Ortofon FF 15 X Mkii still in the box. So not knowing anything I took it to a shop who put a new belt on for me, cleaned her up a bit and set it up. When I asked them which cartridge will sound better they said to leave the standard Pioneer on and so it stayd then.
Now my questions are this
1. Do you guys agree that the standard cartridge will sound better?
2. If I change to the Ortofon, would I have to set up the TT again or is this just a screw off and screw on job and how complicated is this process for a first timer?
3. Would I be better off with something from here http://www.avforums.co.za/index.php/topic,30149.0.html or here http://www.avforums.co.za/index.php/topic,32080.0.html, or would this be waisting money on an old not so nice TT?
