After a long deliberation, I'm leaning towards going with a plasma TV. I'm looking at a 50'ish" model. Hoping to get the balance between performance and price right.
It just seems that we have a very limited choice of plasma's in SA. My observations and considerations:

It just seems that we have a very limited choice of plasma's in SA. My observations and considerations:
- Samsung 50E550 -> Good overall and very good price, but was hoping to get something a little more higher end / performance
- Samsung D/E8000 -> Way out of my budget on 64" and don't think they have smaller models in SA
- LG 50PZ950 -> Supposed to be high end, but reviews aren't in their favour
- LG 50PM9700 -> Mixed reviews for a top end Plasma, but price and features looks good. No one seems to know when it is being released in SA even though it has been on LG SA's website for +2 months
- Any Panasonic -> When I compare their Rand and Dollar prices to those of other brands they seem way too expensive in SA. Can't help feel those independent importers are ripping the ring out of us
