Platter Polishing

For those who do (and it seems some purists frown upon it, but I like it) polish their platter - what can I coat it with afterwards to stop fingermarks from marring the polished surface?

I did, of course, Google this, but stopped after the Dutch guy on the Linn forum got some interesting replies to his "how do I polish my ring" question...  :BWAHAHAH:

I am looking for "something" I can go and buy at Makro or Game tomorrow, and it does the job. Any advice?
