Polk Audio - Crappy for Stereo

I'd like to get n indication on how people feel about Polk Audio products in general regarding stereo playback. I have a pair of Rti8's and love them to bits. I have mentioned them in passing to "veterans" of the hobby and have been told they are crappy for music playback. I personally like their forward nature and don't think they are crappy at all. It wont steer my opinion anywhere whatever people say but I'd like to hear what everyone has to say. thank you in advance for ya'lls input.
