Polk Audio PSW 404

i am eyeing this Polk Audio Sub at a retail shop. Its been on display for months now maybe more than a year. Visually it looks used and some of its front silver looks somewhat (very negligable though) faded where the front cover was rubbing on it when being removed now and then, if you take a closer look. it sounds decent but i feel their asking price of R3800.00 is a bit steep, its a demo model and though it will be in a box and sold to me (if i decide to buy it) it looks nothing close to new. can i have some advise on how to approach this.
