You know, I'm really fed up with Audio Vision. The service is shocking!
Just last weekend I went to their Tygervalley branch to buy some cable to try bi-amping my KEFs with my new Onkyo 705. They literaly laughed me out the store. Told me it was a waste of time and I couldn't bi-amp with a HT receiver. The salesman even called his friend so they could both have a good laugh at my expense. Went and bought some Supra Classique cables from Tafelburgh instead (much better service).
So this weekend I went to Audio Vision at the Waterfront. I've decided to buy the IQ6c as my centre (which the wife is not too pleased about) and as a concession was toying with the idea of using a pair of KEF HTS 3001's as my rears instead of the more bulky, less wife friendly IQ1s.
They already had the IQ's all set up, so all I wanted for them to do was swap out the rear dipoles with the KHT3005 sats. The salesman looked at me like I smacked his mother. Anyway, once he agreed and started to set it up, another salesman came along and took over the demo room, I had to wait 20mins for him to finish his sales pitch to a couple who clearly had no idea what he was on about.
Finally I got my demonstration, but the salesman was reticent to turn the volume up and the ambient noise in the store was so bad that I couldn't hear a thing. Irate I went and turned up the volume myself.
I'm quite happy with the idea of using the KHT3005's sats as my rears, but what an unpleasant experience. I'll be sure to order the sats and centre from Tafelburgh.
