I am a bit baffled...
I have a Fostex mini mixer that I use to do recording with. It is a simple 12 volt DC powered unit (MX12) and uses a 'wall-wart' PSU.
Earlier I connected a 12 volt DC battery to it and it blew! Why? I guessed that it would work but something went wrong... Eish!!!
It now has a hum on both channels and no sound is passing thourgh. What the heck do I do now?
There is no visible damage inside!
