I've been getting some scratchy noises from the RH channel of my system lately. Its quite unpredictable as sometimes it would start as soon as I fire the system up and other times only after a while. In fact, it sounds quite a bit like Juggy's issues with his Pioneer amp....My current mix-a-match system consists of Monitor Audio B2 speakers running off a vintage Sansui AU117 amp. Sources go via the Maverick Audio TubeMagic DAC (I like the valve out) and either my Pioneer DV366 (coax) or laptop (usb). I get the crackles with both laptop and DVDp, so its not either of those. I hoped the valve was dodgy so I changed from valve to SS out. Still there, so its not the valve.I've swopped the LH and RH speakers and the crackles moved from RH to LH. So its not the speakers.Which more or less leaves me with amp issues. I've changed the inputs from Aux to Tuner and no change, so its not on the connectors. When I move the balance right there is more crackles while I turn but nothing when I go left.To my very inexperienced mind I suspect there's a dry joint somewhere on the RH circuitary.....Any advise? Something I could try or is it best to find a pro? If so, someone in JHB you can recommend? Thanks in advance guys!
